About Travel Swiss
Travel Swiss is an independent guide to travelling in Switzerland, written for people planning their own trip rather than booking a package. Every guide is based on first-hand experience — routes actually ridden, excursions actually taken, and prices actually paid in Swiss francs.
Who writes this
Hi, I'm Christoph Burgdorfer. Swiss-based traveler writing first-hand, up-to-date guides to getting the most out of Switzerland — trains, mountains, and real prices in Swiss francs. I started Travel Swiss because most Switzerland travel advice is either an official tourism-board brochure or a one-off blog post that went out of date three winters ago. Trains, prices and opening times change here every year, and this site is built to keep up.
How these guides are made
- First-hand, not aggregated. Recommendations come from real visits — not rewritten from other websites.
- Real prices, dated. When we quote a fare or ticket, we say when we checked it, because Swiss prices move.
- Honest verdicts. If a famous excursion isn't worth the money, we say so and point you to a better-value alternative.
- Kept current. Guides carry a visible "last updated" date and are reviewed on a rolling schedule each season.
How we stay independent
Some links on Travel Swiss are affiliate links — if you book through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes our recommendations; we link to what we'd genuinely use. Read our editorial policy for the full detail.
